Looking back on April 2021

Key points

  • The Fund was down 0.79% in April (net, but before investor tax).
  • The Covid recovery economic news is positive, but is leading to unusual short-term gyrations.
  • Quarterly results announcements have been positive but share prices have dropped, for now.

Our monthly update for April 2021 is now available.

Financial markets are a little unsure of themselves at the moment, with conflicting positive and negative aspects of the economic recovery from Covid-19 driven downturns. Typically what happens in these sorts of directionless times is that markets get panicky, with a "sell now and worry about the facts later" kind of mindset. We're seeing a little of that right now.
